The Bridge Country: Which Big Name is Playing?

The most prestigious title in Bridge are Bermuda Bowl (for Open Team), Venice Cup (for Woman) and Senior Bowl (for Senior). The other very important tournament was what before called “Bridge Olympiad”. That tournament now is called “World Bridge Game” and part of the 3rd Olympic event: the World Mind Sport Games (the other 2 events are winter Olympic and summer Olympic). So, here is the list of the big names in bridge based on Bermuda Bowl 2009 and WBG 2008.

You can tell that the Senior rank will be a snapshot of maybe the last decade rank as the bridge hero of that country become seniors. On the other hand, the junior rank could be a reference what would be the map of power in the future as those boys and girls will become member of open team. For example: beware of the youngster from Croatia, Finland, Chinese Taipei and Israel. Although currently they are not listed on the open team nor woman nor senior, but they are on the top 15 of the Junior.

On the other path, for example: Indonesia, while at the senior they are still very strong, but current open team, woman, and junior need to catch up with the previous Bridge Master team.
